tour last day

i'm just having a night off tonight!!! Played today at Lillq Cafe: Yaletown Christmas market, which marked the end of this string of shows. It's been a great learning experience, and so much thanks to appletreecafe for all the positive energy she has brought to the tour. Would have been an entirely different experience without her... PHOTOS from appletreecafe:  Click Here
The CD Release in Vancouver was my favorite show. So warm.. I wish we had captured some of it on video. Raw Canvas is great.

i feel inspired but also looking forward to some down-time!

more to come!

tour day 6

drove yesterday from Penticton.. it was beautiful.. snow-covered mountains and bright blue skies.  Ms Corolla is losing her muffler, so I'll be repairing that!

Good to sleep in my own bed, and eat a meal at home... Antenon & Verena cooked us a beautiful meal last night!!  sooooo yummy!

Today:  sending CD's to London and Germany!  International sales are going well!!
Tonight:  Playing a solo / acoustic show with Laurell at Raw Canvas in Yaletown, Vancouver.

Pics from day 4 & 5 here.

last night was soooo much fun.. an amazing group of people at the Streaming Cafe!  and, it's still streaming all day today :)  www.streamingcafe.net    We're at the cafe now, enjoying some tea :)  The show is playing  on their computer screens and I'm seeing my crazy upper lip sweat... so sexy...

we had great hosts, the Van Der Lely family who kindly let us stay in their house :)

and just heard the funniest news... Robyn and I are in fits of laughter...   'Unconventional Shining' will be available at CANADIAN TIRE in WILLIAMS LAKE !!!!!!   Wow.

Robyn and I are going to a Music BC touring workshop as well today in Kelowna.  Then... off to Penticton for another show @ Voodoos.

Tour day 2

busy, busy day..!  played on Midday TV show :)  was fun.  so glad to have appletreecafe alongside.  learning so much about promoting... and great to have feedback on how things appear from an audience perspective.  i still get nervous singing in front of people!! haha you'd think by now I'd be a cool cat... all in all, i feel the most alive and grounded about music than i ever have :)

Looking forward to the show tonight!!  The Art We Are is a pretty cool spot!

Interior Tour: DAY 1

Alright... the tour officially starts today for us.. but we don't have an actual show this evening... we are dodging weather and heading up to Kamloops (4 hours north Vancouver ) so that we can wake up tomorrow morning and play on a TV show!! Just looked at the Coquihalla highway cameras.. blue sky and SNOW... (This is why we are driving in day light)

We will be utilizing tonight to practice with a friend, Kristopher Ruston, who will be playing percussion for the show tomorrow @ the Art we Are.

I had one of those sleeps where you wake up and your eyes hurt. So I'm a bit groggy here but will snap out of it at some point.

More to Come!!

Seed to Fruition

'unconventional shining'... available to YOU :) TODAY!!!

It's been over a year since this album began to take form... and so it's very exciting for it to finally be 'REAL' and no longer a distant fantasy or goal. I feel like I put my heart and soul into this project and it's great to see it evolve from SEED to FRUITION... And now.. into the outside world it goes...

I have been very lucky to be asked by Grammy Award winning S. Husky Hoskulds, who mixed and mastered my album, to be part of his online record label / website, Groundlift: Elevating Audio / Visual Experiences. 'Groundlift is a creative platform, an online community and forum for forward thinking and open minded artists and art lovers.' Groundlift sells music in both MP3 and 16 bit (CD quality) formats!!! Similar to iTunes but BETTER.

Bass tracks soon :)

I'm getting excited!!!  I am now in Kamloops to record bass tracks at a friend's recording studio.  I've been working on drum editing and dreaming up textures & arrangements.   Overall I'm feeling good, it's not spring yet but I've got a spring energy going on.

back again with beats in hand

I had 2 sessions with Dan Gaucher, an awesome drummer who used to play with me a lot back in the nujazz days... hahaha, we managed to get rhythm onto 13 tracks!!  so I have a lot I can work with.  We recorded the session in my loft, and I built a fort of sleeping bags around him to dampen the sound... some of the songs we just did in one take, he has such great instincts and the fresh energy of the first take is hard to replicate.
